Kalymnos has a surface area of 111 km2 and is known for its sponge fishing. The charm of Kalymnos lies in the rugged nature of the rocky, sparsely vegetated hills with a very irregular coastline and numerous caves. Kalymnos is loved by climbers because of its many rocks and climbing possibilities. Kalymnos offers some beautiful beaches, mainly on the island's west coast. Kalymnos is still a charming island since it is not overrun by tourists.
