Symi has a surface area of 52 km2, it is one of the most picturesque islands of the Dodecanese. The beautiful bays formed by steep mountains makes Symi a busy daydestination for tourists from Rhodes. Once the boats are gone, the island is peaceful again for you and the residents. Symi is an island for a tranquil holiday.
The picturesque village has a traditional architecture with neoclassical houses dating from the early 20th century. Back then Symi was an island of prosperity because of many shipbuilding and shipping. Down in Gialos (where the boats dock) it's very cozy and full with restaurants, tavernas and shops.
