Poros is an island with a surface area of 33 km2 belonging to the Saronic islands. It is located just south of Aegina and is formed by a bridge joining two smaller islands. Poros is green and hilly and has many pine trees. The rugged coastline provide many bays with beautiful beaches.
The arrival by ferry is magnificent. In the harbor one sees the wooden fishing boats and the light-colored houses (mostly 19th century) built up against the hills. There are a number of churches and at the highest point of the city is a beautiful bell tower. Poros town is typical Greek with narrow streets and whitewashed steps.
