Andros is the northernmost island of the Cyclades with a surface area of approximately 380 km2. It is a quiet and mountainous island, with green hills full of fruit- and olivetrees, waterfalls, streams and springs. This makes Andros the greenest island of the Cyclades. The 127 km long coastline is rocky and is always interrupted by beautiful (mostly sandy) beaches.
On Andros there are not many foreign tourists, it is mainly the Greeks who find their way here. We advise you to rent a car for one or several days to explore the island properly. Since the island is a bit larger, the bus is not as efficient as on some other Cycladic Islands.
The island has several monasteries and other sites. Andros is an island for those who want to get to know the real Greece.
