The small, quiet and charming island of Ithaki has a surface area of approximately 96 km2 and is situated between the Ionian island of Kefalonia and the mainland. Due to its strategic location in the Ionian sea many sailors find their way to Ithaca. According to Greek mythology Ithaki was the home of Odysseus (the creator of the Trojan horse).
The main town of Ithaca has a pleasant harbor with terraces bordering the narrow streets of the center. There is not a lot to do on Ithaki besides enjoying the silence, the beauty and the romance of the island.
