Sifnos is one of the Cyclades and has a surface area of approximately 74 km2. When you arrive by ferry to Sifnos you will be surrounded by high, barren mountains with a white chapel and a monastery on top. The island of Sifnos is not as dry as you might think at first, the real beauty of this island is six kilometers from the port.
Here you find a hilly landscape scattered with typical white Cycladic Villages . The distances between the villages are so small that you can easily walk (via walking paths) from one village to the other. Therefore Sifnos is considered as a real hiking island.
The former capital Kastro with its medieval character is very photogenic. After shooting several pictures in Kastro it's nice to relax one of the great beaches of Sifnos.
The village of Kastro has a unique castle-like infrastructure with many old white houses with brightly colored balconies.
The Capital Apollonia is built like an amphitheatre and has the typical Cycladic architecture with narrow white streets ..
