Milos belongs to the Cyclades and has a surface area of ??161 km2. Large pieces of Milos barely know tourism, tourism is mostly developed in Adamas, Plaka and Pollonia. But Milos is still very quiet. Milos features beautiful sandy beaches and the people are very hospitable. Milos is world famous for the discovery of the sculpture "Venus de Milo". There is a plaster copy in the local museum of Plaka, the original is in the Louvre in Paris.
Plaka is the unspoilt and picturesque capital with nice white houses and a maze of narrow streets. Because it's higher located you have beautiful views. On Milos you can find catacombs dating from the first century after Christus, the only one of its kind in Greece. The enormous complex of galleries are carved into a hill. The network of catacombs is 184 meters long and counts 290 tombs.
Be sure to visit Kleftiko. These are wonderful seacaves, only accessible by boat.
In the capital, Plaka you walk through the beautiful authentic narrow streets with a number of churches, museums and bars.
Klima is known for the houses that are literally located on the waterfront where waves crash against them.
