We really had a great time.

We thought Athens was a very cool city. Also recommended for a city trip.
The location of the Economy Hotel was perfect. We saw a lot of beautiful things there, lots of antiques and comfortable places to eat. The Acropolis, the museum, the changing of the guards, the temple of Zeus. Etc. Just wonderful. We are certainly curious about the antiquities further afield on the Greek mainland.
The people at the hotel are very friendly.
Jennifer unfortunately fell down a flight of stairs in one of the shops on the third day.
We came back to the hotel in a lot of pain. I had a lot of pain in my lower back and hip. In consultation with the hotel reception, they called a taxi and went to the hospital. All sorts of photos were taken, ultrasound and blood tests, all in the Greek style !!!! There was no fracture to be seen but there were doubts about the vertebrae ? she recommended an MRI in Naxos. We put that off for a while. After a few anxious hours, I was happy to go home in the evening with a dose of good painkillers.
The taxi to the hotel made another diversions to the pharmacy, it was Sunday.
All exciting times! ... but relieved to be able to continue our journey.
The transfer from the hotel to the ferry was fine.

The journey a little less so because of the pain.

We also found Naxos to be a beautiful island. A charming hotel with a rather small pool, so 5 days of compulsory rest on the beach. Unfortunately, no antiquities can be visited here.
But a beautiful beach with very clear waters.
The hotel staff were also very friendly and a delicious full buffet breakfast.
Good restaurants and shops.
The transfer to the port and the ferry crossing were well organised. A little hectic on arrival and departure, but it went very quickly.

We thought Santorini was nice to have seen once, but 3 days was more than enough.
Luckily we saw the beautiful blue houses in Oia, a long hike but thankfully it happened.
The village was nice and quiet, had to get used to the black beach!!!
Nice warm water here.
The hotel was small and comfortable but good. Breakfast was good and varied.
The transfer was good and the crossing with the high speed ferry was perfect.

Crete is a charming island and the car was well equipped.
The village of Mirtos is nice and cosy with nice restaurants and shops.
Lovely to sit on the terrace whilst enjoying a drink and delicious live music.
The apartment was surprisingly large. We sat perfectly by the pool. Delicious.
Beautifully maintained garden with lots of greenery, fruit trees and flowers. The staff work hard to keep everything tidy and clean.
We also enjoyed walking to the bakery every morning for delicious fresh bread.
At the beach we hired a boat for part of the day and snorkelled wonderfully. Luckily I was able to join in too.
We went to Knossos, Vai and Crissy Island. We found Crissy Island a bit disappointing, quite expensive and not really clean. Vai is more fun and more beautiful for snorkelling.
As you can read, a great trip with many beautiful moments
