We've been home for about a week now and we can't stop talking about the fun we had in the Cyclades.
I'll talk about the islands one by one.
In fact, the trip there and back went without a hitch.
1. In Andros, we were at first a little disappointed by the accommodation, after that it turned out to be the least, but on the whole we were very pleased.
Ten years ago, we were also in Andros, at the Chryssi Akti hotel in Batsi, and had very pleasant memories of it.
Blue Bay Village was perhaps a little more luxurious but had no atmosphere at all, the staff, with the exception of the owner, made a lazy and indifferent impression.
2. Tinos, on the other hand, excelled for its hospitality, friendliness and commitment.
The location is great, right next to the bus stop, the beach and a great taverna.
The capital is beautiful and the walks to Pyrgos and Panoramos are adventures in themselves.
3. In Paros, we had a room with a very deep terrace to the east, so it was great.
Nice pool and excellent breakfast from the Ukrainian lady.
We found Naoussa, recommended by you, very kitschy, while Aliki in the south was for us to fall in love with, everything fell into place here.
From the incredibly friendly people to the bar / beach chair rental / taverna, it's also worth mentioning in Paros the open-air cinema.
4. Amorgos. After a fascinating journey with the night boat along various small islands and a spectacular walk across the island, watched by the occasional goat, Lakki Village was a completely different experience, we had the good idea of a commune from time to time.
Happy young people singing and meditating together, even the guitar was used.
But what delicious food there and what a kind boss who dominates literally and figuratively, she had drawn us a walk on a breathtaking a-4, very tiring, yes even exhausting, but the 5 and a half hours were worth it.
5. We had already been to Naxos last year, this time we were lucky that there was a cultural festival going on, the first night we went to a Swedish choir who played songs by Mikis Theodorakis and the second night to the original black and white version of ""Zorba the Greek"", both events took place in the open air castle.
In both cases, there were tables, covered in white, with large jugs of white wine, rosé, red wine, raki and ouzo, ready for visitors, regularly urged by the organizer to drink and not be so modest.
6. Koufonissi was indeed small, flat and well laid out.
We found the beach very funny with the benches and the main street above, the boat that takes you to the different beaches is an excellent service.
Villa Anna was a lovely place, by far the cleanest of all and the laundry service deserves extra credit.
7. In Santorini, arriving by boat was great, the climb, the crowds, the noise, it was something completely different.
Fortunately, we were at Monolithos, a good hotel, a nice taverna next door and close to the airport.
We went to Fira by bus and suddenly found ourselves in a completely different world with masses of Chinese, Japanese and Americans around us, fortunately we were able to take the same bus to the wonderful Monolithos.
We will be using your services again next year as everything was perfect with buses, boats, cabs and tickets.
Thank you so much for the great vacation we had, thanks in part to 'Island hopping Greece'.
Best regards,
Cathy and Frits
