We had a fantastic holiday and did not want to go home at all, but unfortunately here we are.
The first day of travel was a long day, we had chosen it ourselves, because we wanted to avoid Athens. On Sifnos we were in a lovely hotel with a wonderful view. The first night we unfortunately did not have separate beds, but the next day we were able to change rooms. It was not a problem.
Milos, also a wonderful place with a fantastic breakfast. The only downside was that the hotel was along the road, but a nice garden and terrace were near our room.
Folegandros was really great. Beautiful hotel with a wonderful view and we entered the city without any climbing. This destination was really the highlight of this trip.
After the beautiful Folegandros, the accommodation in Paros was unfortunately a disappointment. Compared to the previous hotels, and also the last one in Santorini, this was a hotel too big for us and not taken care of, or as we said during the trip, there was no love. We think that the hotel, at least the main building, needs renovation, we found the bathroom in particular dull, no fresh putty in the bathroom for example. The paint on the balcony was not a nice covering gray. We saw that it must have been blue before. The view was beautiful, but the garden was also a bit neglected. The breakfast buffet was also less than in the previous hotels (not a practical arrangement either). Especially when there are a lot of people (and it was early in the morning, a large group of French) it is very inconvenient when you want to have a cup of coffee or tea, to have to go through people. The distance from the hotel to the town was a bit far, especially since you have to walk along the busy road from the hotel first before you can continue inside.
The boat to Santorini was a party, wow what a crowd of people came out of the boat? Luckily we were in a nice town and the hotel was also clean, nice and small and well maintained with a garden.
Overall we had a wonderful trip!
Best regards,
Riny and Corrie
